# Document Insights extraction rejected

POST

Delivered when a Document Insights extraction reaches `REJECTED`.

Reference: https://docs.plextera.com/api/event-reference/document-insights/extraction-rejected

## Request

### Headers

- `X-Plextera-Delivery-Id` (string, required) — Identifier for this subscription delivery. It remains stable across retries; use `X-Plextera-Event-Id` for event deduplication.
- `X-Plextera-Event-Id` (string, required) — Stable event identifier. Identical across retry attempts for the same event. Use this to deduplicate deliveries on the receiver side.
- `X-Plextera-Event-Type` (string, required) — Event type string, e.g. `document-insights.extraction.completed`. Mirrors the `eventType` field in the body.
- `X-Plextera-Event-Occurred-At` (datetime, required) — ISO 8601 timestamp when the terminal state was reached. Mirrors the `occurredAt` field in the body.
- `X-Plextera-Api-Version` (string, required) — API version used to format this payload, e.g. `v1`. Mirrors the `apiVersion` field in the body.
- `X-Plextera-Signature` (string, required) — HMAC-SHA256 signature for verifying that the delivery originated from Plextera. Format: `t=<unix timestamp>,v1=<hex signature>`. The signed string is `<t>.<raw request body>`. See the [Event Subscriptions guide](/guides/core-guides/event-subscriptions#verifying-signatures) for full verification steps.

### Payload

- `eventId` (string, required) — Unique identifier for this event. Stable across retry attempts - use it to deduplicate deliveries on the receiver side.
- `eventType` ("document-insights.extraction.rejected", required) — String identifying the event type, e.g. `document-insights.extraction.completed`.
- `occurredAt` (datetime, required) — ISO 8601 timestamp at which the terminal state was reached.
- `apiVersion` (string, required) — API version used to format this payload.
- `data` (DocumentInsightsExtractionRejectedData, required) — Event-specific payload. The shape varies by `eventType`; see the individual event schemas below.

## Types

### DocumentInsightsExtractionRejectedData

Full state snapshot of the Document Insights extraction at the moment the terminal event was emitted. Present in all three DI event types (`completed`, `failed`, `rejected`).

- `extractionId` (string, required) — Unique identifier for the Document Insights extraction.
- `status` (enum, required) — Terminal status of the extraction. `COMPLETED` means output is available. `FAILED` means routing, processing, or extracted-data validation could not complete. `REJECTED` means the document could not be accepted, for example because it is duplicate, broken, or uses an unsupported language.
  - Allowed values: `COMPLETED`, `FAILED`, `REJECTED`
- `outputAvailable` (false, required) — True when the extraction output is ready to read. Completed events include output when this value is true.
- `error` (RunError, required) — Machine-readable error detail included in `FAILED` and `REJECTED` event payloads.
- `createdAt` (datetime, optional) — UTC timestamp when Plextera accepted the extraction.
- `updatedAt` (datetime, optional) — UTC timestamp of the most recent status change.
- `completedAt` (datetime, optional) — UTC timestamp when the extraction reached its terminal state.
- `labels` (map from string to string, optional) — Client-provided labels submitted with the extraction at creation time and returned for correlation. `docType` is reserved for Document Insights classification.
- `document` (DocumentInsightsDocument, optional) — Summary of the document that was submitted.

### RunError

Machine-readable error detail included in `FAILED` and `REJECTED` event payloads.

- `code` (string, required) — Stable machine-readable error code. Document Insights returns `DOCUMENT_NOT_ROUTED` with `FAILED` for routing problems, `DOCUMENT_EXTRACTION_FAILED` with `FAILED` for processing or extracted-data validation problems, and `DOCUMENT_REJECTED` with `REJECTED` for document-level problems such as duplicate content or an unsupported language.
- `message` (string, required) — Human-readable explanation of the failure or rejection. Include it with the extraction ID when contacting support.

### DocumentInsightsDocument

Summary of the document that was submitted to the Document Insights extraction.

- `fileId` (string, optional) — Identifier of the file in Plextera's Files store. Use `GET /files/{fileId}` to retrieve full file metadata or download the original.
- `fileName` (string, optional) — Original filename as provided at upload time.
- `mimeType` (string, optional) — Standard MIME media type of the source document, for example `application/pdf`. Omitted when Document Insights cannot determine it.
- `size` (long, optional) — File size in bytes.
- `pageCount` (integer, optional) — Number of pages detected in the document. `null` for single-page formats (e.g. JPEG).
- `contentUrl` (string, optional) — Temporary pre-signed link to download the source document, minted when the event is created rather than when it is delivered. It is valid for up to five days from event creation, and retries or resends reuse the same URL. If the download fails, call `GET /document-insights/extractions/{extractionId}` for a fresh link. Omitted when the link cannot be resolved.
